Hi, my name is Christine, and this is my first blog post. I wanted to introduce myself to you. I am a 53-year-old mother of 2 young adults. My 23-year-old daughter, Maddie, lives in Austin, TX after graduating with a business degree from NIU. My 19-year-old son, Sam, is in school in Iowa City. Having them and raising them has been one of the greatest and most fulfilling accomplishments of my life. I can’t even describe the feeling that was born the day they were of unconditional love (and of extreme vulnerability that comes with knowing what the world can be like and all that they would have to learn and go through). When Sam turned 18 and graduated from High School, I did a celebratory dance. They are both adults now and we all made it through. I know it doesn’t stop there, but a major milestone had been reached and deserved some recognition. Now, these two amazing individuals are out there in the world and making a difference.
As for me, I primarily work in graphic design as a contracted Creative Director for magazine design as well as marketing collateral, trade show booth design and advertising creation. I have been working in the publishing industry, beginning in Corporate and then going out on my own, for over 30 years. But going on in the background has always been the energy of a healer.
It has been a long journey. In truth, until last year, I was fairly uncomfortable with this “gift” as it is called by many. I started with trying to accept me for me a while back with many starts and stops, always me standing in the way of my own progress. I began in earnest because I realized I wanted my kids to know who I really am. Up until that point I was just faking my way through, pretending to be something I was not. Well, it is one thing to want something and another to actually realize it. I will go over more of this in future posts.
I decided I would pursue becoming a life coach. I thought that it was a way to do what I wanted to do with a title that would be already familiar to people. I am finding out that that is not necessarily so. I also believe that people are whole beings and that I needed to be educated in more than life coaching. So, I also earned my CrossFit L1 Training Certificate and am working to complete my Nutrition Certification (by March 2020). I completed my Reiki training and became a Reiki Master and have become a practicing Shaman, humanity’s most ancient wisdom tradition. These all work hand-in-hand in my opinion, and I can offer people a wide variety of services to help them realize what possibilities are out there for them.
I have also recently discovered a medical device that helps improve circulation on a microcirculatory level, the BEMER. It is a PEMF (Pulse Electro Magnetic Frequency) device. Improving blood flow and increasing the nutrients getting to all cells along with cellular waste removal which can help a lot of people have better sleep, more energy and other health benefits. I will be offering these services as well.
Well, that’s me in a nutshell. Stay tuned for more in upcoming posts. It promises to be a wild ride.
